Meshless and Web integration, Wigs and Free-wear systems

ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM HAIR-LOSS OR THINNING/ CHEMICALLY DAMAGED HAIR?

Understanding Women's Hair Loss: You're Not Alone

Hair loss is something that affects so many women, but it's often not talked about. It can feel isolating and confusing, especially with so many products and promises on the market. The overwhelming amount of options can make it hard to know where to start.

And then there’s the added stigma around wigs, toppers, and other solutions, which can make seeking help feel daunting. It’s completely understandable to feel uncertain.

I’ve trained in mesh integration, free-wear systems, and wig-making because I truly believe in the power of these solutions to make a meaningful difference. I’ve seen how they can help women regain their confidence, feel more like themselves, and take away the stress of worrying about their hair—allowing them to spend time with loved ones without feeling self-conscious.

Think You Might Be Experiencing Hair Loss?

If you're noticing hair thinning or loss, the first step is to book a visit with your GP. They can refer you to a trichologist who specializes in hair and scalp issues. For more details about the common types of hair loss that affect women, take a moment to scroll down and read more.

TYPES OF HAIR-LOSS AFFECTING WOMEN

These are cases that Laura's luscious locks are most likely to provide a service for

FEMALE PATTERN BALDNESS (ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA)

Women suffering from this type of hair-loss usually find thinning of the hair over the majority of the scalp including the hairline and parting. This is due to the male hormones- androgens present in small amounts in the body. Some women are more susceptible to this through hereditary factors. It is usually permanent.

TRICHOTILLOMANIA

This isn't a hair-loss type like the others but one linked to anxiety. this is where one pulls out their own hair and can either be rather discreet or result in whole patches of localised hair-loss.

ALOPECIA AREATA

This type of hair-loss usually presents itself in patches and is an auto-immune response. The body, often visible as inflammation, is where the immune system attacks its own hair follicles at the root, causing it to fall out. The hair-loss patch usually recovers within a couple of years.

TELOGEN EFFLUVIUM

Part of a hair's cycle includes a shedding phase. This is natural as the hair itself has reached the end of it's life. Telogen effluvium is when more than the average number of hairs enter this stage at the same time. This can be caused by, stress, trauma such as child birth, malnutrition, a severe infection or major surgery for example. It can also be a result of a chronic illness. This type of hair-loss is usually temporary.

ANAGEN EFFLUVIUM

This is when the matrix and the hair folicle is damaged in its growing stage. Chemotherapy is a well known example of what happens to hair in this type of hair-loss. The affected hair usually falls out.

TRACTION ALOPECIA

This is localised hair-loss as a result of tight ponytails, braiding or sometimes badly installed extensions.
